Donations made by the Greenstone Hill office from the Greenstone community - one to the SPCA in Edenvale and the other to Puppy & Kitty Haven.
In a recent bid to help raise additional funds and awareness for animal welfare and Chas Everitt’s a Cause for Paws 2016 campaign, Dykes van Heerden Group of Companies (DvH) has called on staff to bring their pets to work for a day to become furry champions for raising funds, food, blankets and toys for other less fortunate animals.

Cause/Charity: Ballito SPCA
Our Chas Everitt Zinkwazi team have been hard at work collecting items for donation such as animal food, blankets and toys. The Zinkwazi team chose to support the Ballito SPCA who do amazing work in and around the area for stray and rescue animals. The Zinkwazi office have a 'rescue' team member of their own - Gings the little ginger cat. Gings is a fereal cat that lives in the village who decided that he would adopt the Chas Everitt Zinkwazi team as his new family. He happily sits with all the Cause for Paws donations and looks forward to helping the other stray animals in the village.

Chas Everitt Western Seaboard's Nicky Sutherland organised another microchipping day on the 27th of August. The Chas Polokwane team got together at their local Spar as they had a month-end event being held there as well as live music. The team stood at the doors and asked the clients to donate some blankets, food, toys and beds. It turned into a very successful day with quite a number of people supporting the cause and making generous donations. All donation have gone towards helping their local SPCA.

Chas Everitt Western Seaboard team have done an amazing job at collecting food supplies for the Fallen Angels animal shelter in Cape Town through an in house food drive.

Cause/Charity: Local Residential Dogs
The Chas Everitt St Helena Bay team are very active in doing charitable work for the dogs from the neighbouring area, Steenberg Cove. Sue Niemand and Charmaine Swanepoel from the St Helena office rescued a badly wounded dog which they named ‘Blackie’ after a terrible dog fight in the area.

Chas Everitt Nelson Mandela Bay recently held a Music Trivia Fund Raiser in support of A Cause for Paws. The office team collected items of dog and cat food as well as blankets to the value of around R4,000 on the night of the Music Trivia.

Cause/Charity: Germiston SPCA
The Chas Everitt Bedfordview team have been hard at work with collecting supplies to donate. Through internal donations as well as attorneys and conveyancers making generous contributions to the cause, they were recently able to make a large donation of cat and dog food, as well as blankets to the Germiston SPCA who are in desperate need of supplies for the aimals in their care.

Cause/Charity: Hoedspruit Paws & HALO – Hoedspruit Animal Outreach
Chas Everitt Hoedspruit team arranged to do a food drive for cat and dog food at their local Spar in which they managed to collect a substantial amount of food which was donated to Hoedspruit Paws. The Hoedspruit team also received food donations from Buco which were handed over a local animal welfare organisation called HALO - Hoedspruit Animal Outreach. Additionally, the Chas Hoedspruit team has decided to host a fun pet photo shoot drive in which pet lovers pay a donation of R100 for a picture of their pet and thereafter all proceeds will go towards buying cat and dog food, beds, blankets and so forth to donate to the office's chosen charities.

The Chas Centurion Team held an in office fund raiser for a week in which each employee had to take a picture of their pets and submit their photos for R50 per animal. The money that was raised through this competition was then used to purchase 240kg cat litter and dog biscuits to donate. The community responded very well to their cause, and in turn, the office received a number of donations from the public including dog food, blankets, baskets, an igloo, dog accessories (leashes, toys, grooming items, medicine). Old furniture, clothes, ornaments, electrical equipment and so forth, were also received as donations toward the SPCA volunteers market that is held every Saturday. The money goes towards projects at the SPCA like dog runs, maintenance on the dog kennels, floors and roofs and so on.

Cause/Charity: SPCA, 4 Paws and a Tale and Cat Walk Animal Shelters
Our Amanzimtoti Chas Team are regularly hosting collection drives at Seadoone Mall for their chosen charities SPCA, 4 Paws and a Tale, and Cat Walk animal shelters. Donations include animal food, blankets, beds and toys for the two shelters. The Cat Walk shelter focuses on rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming stray, abandoned and feral cats that live around the Athlone Park, Old Durban Airport, Amanzimtoti and surrounding areas. Jane Laver (see photos) assists by baking biscuits and selling them to raise funds for cat walk. The SPCA and 4 Paws and a Tale animal shelters are also involved in doing amazing work around the Amanzimtoti area for abandoned and neglected animals.

The Chas Randburg team recently held a donation drive outside Honeydew Spar to collect food, blankets and toys to donate to Randburg SPCA. The community opened their hearts and gave graciously to the Cause for Paws campaign, donating a total of 300kg of pet food. The Randburg team decided to donate this on Mandela Day to Randburg SPCA as well as volunteer at the shelter for their 67 Minutes.

Our Witbank Chas team have been hard at work collecting in house donations from their agents and staff, as well as donations from the public at their office collection site. They have chosen to collect items of dog and cat food, blankets, toys and so forth to donate to the Witbank SPCA.

The Benoni team collected a generous amount of dog food through collection drives. The dog food was handed over to T.A.G (The Animal Guardians) shelter in Benoni who help underprivileged communities in the area by helping them care for their pets effectively.

Through in house collection drives and generous donations from the public, Chas Everitt Ballito office managed to collect Dog and Cat food as well as other supplies needed, to donate to Animally Haven animal shelter in Ballito.
