Chas Everitt far East Rand
The Chas Everitt Far East Rand team decided to partner Potters Haven in Struisbult,
Springs. The Potters Haven has been in existence for over 4 years. Potters Haven
is a place of safety for abused children and an overnight facility for any child
in need on a 24/7 basis. It is managed by the Minnie family providing family care
and love on an ongoing basis. A total of 30 children have crossed their threshold
so far, in most cases, experiencing true proper family care and structure for
the first time.
At the moment they are looking after2 babies, 3 and 7 months old respectively,
three brothers aged 2, 5, and 8 and 2 girls aged 10 and 14 and an 18 year old
currently attending college. The children placed in their care are all open
welfare cases. This means that they do not receive government grants for taking
care of the children. No children are refused when presented by various organizations
to the Minnie family!
At the moment their survival is dependant on the Minnie's personal income and
home and on donations from the community. Their basic necessities are toiletries,
groceries, cleaning materials and medical support. We do have a breakdown of
the items that they use on a monthly basis. Any donations will be welcomed.
The Chas Team salutes this worthy cause and the Minnie's unselfish dedicated
help and love towards our communities "lost" kids!!!!!
Please contact Patsy Pretorius on 082 331 6197 if you would like to support
this cause.
